My own typologies

Car Emblems

Typology -  The study of types.

We were instructed to go around campus taking photos of the same type of thing

I chose to photograph car emblems as looking through typologies on Google, I noticed this hadn't particularly been done.

I prefer this particular typology in monochrome because the colour then doesn't distract from the emblem. I've used Mark Luthringer as inspiration for this style of typology.

Artist Research - Mark Luthringer

Mark Luthringer

Mark Luthringer started his photography career at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he refined his vision. He then worked as an assistant at Hedrich Blessing which is where he gained extensive technical skill in architectural photography. He launched into the photography business in 1997. Luthringer worked on a number of personal projects and in the years 2002-2006 4 distinct bodies of work were either completed or maintained, including his first all-digital project, Ridgemont Typologies.
